Meet Elizabeth Page, a writer and filmmaker - and now, obviously, an eBacon maven - and Chandler Lusardi, the business brains behind this operation…
Hi folks. You can learn more about the film we’re making at AboutThatNightTheFilm.com and more about me personally at ElizabethPage.org. As for Chandler, after getting her Masters in Education and Special Education, Chandler designed programs for “at risk” kids and raised a hundred thousand dollars a year as the Chair of the Young Leadership Committee of the not-for-profit Street Squash, an organization that provides afterschool programs for inner city kids. She moved on to learn more about how to raise money at Merrill Lynch and is now off to Tuck to complete her MBA - all while helping me set up the film and raise the funds we need. Whoo hoo! Girl Power!
As for eBaconMyMovie… well I’ve been at this a while. Made award-winning plays, television, shorts, low-budget commercials, web pieces etc. But when I was ready to make a feature, I ran into what most of us run into - more obstacles than any one woman can handle. So I founded From Script to PreProduction (fs2p.org) to help women put together the packages they need to attract producing partners and financing. And that went great. Except for the fact that the money was still a great big challenge. Which is why we’ve now founded eBaconMyMovie - to give filmmakers a better way to raise money. Yes, we can still look for investment in all the usual places. But while we’re waiting for our emails and letters and phone calls to be returned, we can actually raise our film budgets by eBaconing all the stuff folks are ready to pass on. Meanwhile you get rid of your stuff, you get a tax deduction and you get to sleep at night knowing that you’ve helped filmmakers like me and the wonderful women at FS2P make their movies.
