FAQ
FAQ
How does it work?
You donate your stuff, get a tax deduction, and lots of fun perks. And we sell your stuff on E**y and use the proceeds to make our films.
Okay but how does it really work?
It starts with you filling out our Online Form - giving us your contact info and a description of the items you wish to donate. Then you either Send It To Us - and we add your shipping costs to your donation. Or we send you a pickup date (if you live in NYC or the New Haven, CT area.) Once your item has sold, we’ll send you an email acknowledging your donation and your perks. Easy Peasy.
What kind of stuff do you take?
Anything from that old cell phone/ipad/laptop to tea pots to fabulous clothing you’d still wear if you weren’t tired of it to art work to sporting equipment to jewelry to books – anything you can lift by yourself. We’re not set up to sell your dining room set or your sectional. Yet. Oh and obviously you can’t donate your dog (or your husband) or any sort of perishable or firearm or pharmaceutical or porn or alcohol or drug paraphernalia or anything nasty. This is E**y, after all.
Can I get a percentage of the proceeds?
Sorry, we’re not a consignment shop. We take donations so you can get tax deductions. And some fun perks.
So what kinds of perks are we talking about?
Glad you asked. We have a whole Perks Page describing all the ways you can participate.
And what kind of movies are you making?
We’re independent filmmakers making the sort of films that you’d generally find on the festival circuit, in small arthouse theatres, or online platforms like Netflix, Amazon or iTunes. First up, Elizabeth Page’s About That Night, a contemporary drama set on a college campus about the fallout from the sexual assault of a student. Learn more about the film here: AboutThatNightTheFilm.com
I don’t have any stuff to give you but I’d like to donate money or invest in your films. Is that possible?
Absolutely. Check out our Perks page and then go to Nywift.org/AboutThatNight
I have questions. How do I contact you?
Email us at AboutThatNightTheMovie@gmail.com.
